The industry highlight 2019: denkmal Russia-Moscow
The Countdown for Russia’s most significant restoration trade fair „denkmal Russia-Moscow“ from 05 to 07 November in Moskau has begun. Featuring more than 100 exhibitors, among those, also Pavilions from Germany and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation as well as competitions, live-demonstrations and internationally represented congress-events denkmal once more becomes a a magnet for experts in the field of heritage preservation and restoration from all over Russia and the GUS-states. The trade fair unifies restorers, heritage preservers, planners, craftsmen, heritage owners, developers, public officials, scientists, trainees and producers - an ideal place to exchange experiences and business dealings.
When denkmal Russia-Moscow was last held in 2017, it broke all previous records with 3,450 registered trade visitors (2015: 2,970), 106 exhibitors (2015: 80) and over 100 speakers, creating an excellent basis for the follow-up exhibition in 2019.
Minister of Culture: “An important event for Russia”
Vladimir Medinsky, Russia’s Minister of Culture, underlined that denkmal is “an important event for the restoration sector in Russia.” And Alexey Yemelyanov, head of Moscow’s Department of Cultural Heritage, declares: “The expo has become much more vibrant and professional, especially thanks to the congress programme, demonstrations and the competitions for students and young restorers – the decision-makers of tomorrow.”
Strong German Presence
Germany is once again hosting a large national Pavilion. All together 21 exhibitors come from Germany. Some are also part of the congress programme. 8 young restorers are sent to the competition of young restorers, featuring 5 disciplines for the first time, by the Chamber of Crafts of Leipzig helped by the support of the city of Leipzig and the federal state of Saxony.
