The industry event 2019: denkmal Russia-Moscow
The countdown for Russia’s foremost restoration trade show denkmal Russia-Moscow in the country’s capital in November 2019 is on. Featuring over 100 exhibitors including national pavilions from Germany and Italy as well as competitions, live demonstrations and international forums, once again denkmal will be a magnet for specialists in heritage conservation and restoration from all over Russia and the CIS. Bringing together restorers, conservationists, planners, craftspeople, monument owners, developers, representatives of public agencies, scholars, researchers, trainers and manufacturers, the exhibition will be an ideal opportunity to meet, talk shop and do business.
When denkmal Russia-Moscow was last held in 2017, it broke all previous records with 3,450 registered trade visitors (2015: 2,970), 106 exhibitors (2015: 80) and over 100 speakers, creating an excellent basis for the follow-up exhibition in 2019.
Minister of Culture: “An important event for Russia”
Vladimir Medinsky, Russia’s Minister of Culture, underlined that denkmal was “an important event for the restoration sector in Russia.” And Alexey Yemelyanov, head of Moscow’s Department of Cultural Heritage, declared: “The expo has become much more vibrant and professional, especially thanks to the congress programme, demonstrations and the competitions for students and young restorers – the decision-makers of tomorrow.”
Strong showing from Germany and Italy
In 2017, both Italy and Germany set up large national pavilions and also hosted seminars. Sixteen exhibitors from Germany took part, as did 12 from Italy. Said Alessandro Zanini, President of Assorestauro (the Italian Association for Architecture, Art and Urban Restoration): “denkmal was the best possible way for us to enter the Russian market.”
